A Muslim suicide bomber exploded in Jerusalem today: One killed in suicide bombing at French Hill intersection.
A Palestinian suicide bomber blew herself up Wednesday afternoon near a bus stop in northern Jerusalem's French Hill intersection.
One person was killed, 19 were wounded: two seriously including 9-year-old boy who is on life support, Magen David Adom reported. 13 others are listed in light to moderate condition.
Jerusalem Police Chief Cmdr. Ilan Franco said a female suicide bomber blew herself up at the French Hill intersection at about 3:45 p.m.
"The intersection has known attacks in the past. Today, a female suicide bomber blew up very near the buses at the intersection. One person was killed and several others wounded. We are investigating the attack," Franco said.
The bomber attempted to get as close as possible to the bus stop at the intersection, but was stopped by a Border Police guard station. Seeing she could not get through, the bomber decided to blow up at the guard station.
The suicide bomber's body parts were strewn across the intersection.
The Aksa Martyrs' Brigades, the military wing of Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement, claimed responsibility for the attack.
